Slow Times For Me

As real life is starting to eat my time, I still try to play this game when I have the chance. Anyway, I'll be posting again this month with content about my current moments in WoW. Stay tuned for a blog this weekend.

Also to note, I did get a new power supply and it's a lot better than a no name brand from China. Never again...

Wonderful...

As I'm about to be finished leveling up my warrior this weekend, my PSU (hopefully) decides to not power on my computer. I'm not sure why, but it couldn't turn on lately and it strangely cut off after I took a shower. I don't have enough money for a PSU at the moment, so it's going to be a while until I get one. Until then, no new WoW updates from me.

Too Rough for PvP!

Yeah, I can clearly see how monks are behind in PvP. The only class specialization I can be at the moment is Mistweaver. I know Windwalker can still work in PvP, but the skill cap for that is a little extreme for me. And with better DPS on the field (Arms Warriors, BM Hunters, Frost Mages, etc.), I'm pretty much butter milk to them. However, being as Mistweaver has been fun. I still have trouble with mana, but I do like to heal people. The problem with that is I might heal the wrong people that just don't want to do objectives or others just don't want to defend with me (just remember earlier when the only mage JUST left Blood Elf Tower in Eye of the Storm while one hunter came up to me and proceed to blew me out of the water; the mage JUST passed the hunter and kept going...really...).

However, this has affect everyone since crowd control in the game just seem too potent for PvP now. The biggest excuse is that healers are too strong in PvP, but that's just mostly Restoration Druids for the problem (which they're slightly getting fixed in the next patch due to Heart of the Wild). But seriously, I think there is a fine balance between having the right crowd control (CC) for the healer having trouble and impossible time healing anything. With so much CC, that sets a huge side-effect of random battlegrounds being CC-fest. I know the focus is mostly 3v3 arena and rated battlegrounds, but having too much CC gaps new players from improving their gearing and understanding of PvP.

In my view, toning down instant CC would be nice unless it's melee. Melee-based specializations that has ranged CC that exceeds 20 yards should be removed or tone down a bit. All ranged classes should have cast times on their CC unless it's melee-ranged. Fear-based CC needs to be breakable, but not to the point it breaks on the first hit. Lastly, having root-based CCs on a longer diminishing return will help with mobility.

Overall, PvP is in a serious need of fixing. With too much CC going around and certain classes being broken, it's just not a fun experience for newcomers and veterans.

MoP So Far...

It's pretty good so far. The Wandering Isle introduced the pandarian race a bit and playing said race is fun. Monk is a little hard at first, especially getting down Brewmaster, I haven't touched Mistweaver yet, but maybe later down the road. For now, I'm totally into Windwalker. Pandaria's Jade Forest is a great introduction to the new leveling areas. I'm about to go into Valley of the Four Winds, but later when I get time. The pet battle were interesting. I thought my Speedy was going down easier, but it leveled without problems and the system is becoming easier for me to understand. Overall, this game is looking bright for me. I probably just scratched the top part of this expansion and still have a lot to cover, but that's good to me anyways. However, I can't wait to obtain a Cloud Serpent. Those things look amazing.

Pre-Ordered And Ready!

You heard right. I pre-ordered the normal expansion for MoP and ready to go as soon as I get my copy from the store (couldn't get it online; almost could, but credit card requirement as usual). They did gave me beta access, but I didn't felt like going on beta since I think that would be a waste of time and computer space for my actual gaming for this expansion. I'm playing on Ner'zhul US, but I'm probably going to re-roll with a monk on Trollbane US with some friends around the release date. I'm slowly not liking PvP and when MoP rolls in, it's going to be crazy when the leveling 85-90 occurs. So I'm going to take a "break" from that realm and be with my friends.

Patch 5.0.4 + Returned

For starters, I'm back for a while. Just trying out some of the new abilities and spells that are changed within the talent system. So far, it's a little tricky with Feral Druid since we're going back to SR uptime, but I'm ok with that. The game maybe simplified, but not all aspects are. Also trying to get back into Survival Hunter as well. Kinda tricky as well since I'm gaining so much focus when I don't need it. Not to mention my pet dies extremely easy now. Overall though, the changes are ok. I would like to use Incarnation more, but Soul of the Forest is decent for Feral Druid at the moment. I'm not too sure with Survival Hunter since it seems like any talent will do. But having Thrill of the Hunt is nice though.

The reduce slots was saddening, but I do get gold from it. So it's not entirely a bad loss. Getting items in LFR is a lot more personal and a welcome change. No more whining about that heroic geared warrior getting raid tier because it's for his off-spec (although there's more whining about Blizz doing this to them). Not to mention getting 25 gold for a lost roll is a pretty good trade off. Getting back into PvP is hard since most people are out-gearing me. So I don't focus on that aspect too much.

The only, true problem I have with this patch is that there is a visual bug where I see half the skin of a player. It was (un)funny at first, but now it's just straight up annoying to look at every time I walk by people. Fortunately, a Blizz rep knows about this and it deals with the CPU. Yes, I have a single-core processor and that is not the problem because people with duo-cores (and a couple of quad-cores) have the same problem. So hopefully, it's not a costly fix on the user side.

Overall, the patch is looking promising to fix up the expansion. A couple of hickups here and there with other classes, but mostly satisfied with what is given. Now all I'm waiting for is the Theramore incident and the expansion to pop out and every can begin playing again.

MoP Cinematic Trailer

Overall, a pretty decent intro to the expansion. Love the human handing the spear to the orc. Nothing wrong with a little change to the old recipe.

Set Your Calendar Dates Now!

On September 25th, Mists of Pandaria will dissipate and there will be a whole new continent to visit. If possible, I'll probably jump in on the fun. I'm not sure if I have enough to do so, but we'll see. Also, just make sure to check out MMO-Champion for any information about the release date changes and such. On a related note, I may come back if I can gather enough money to play again. If you want, you can email me here. I'm not asking for a large sum of money. Even a few dollars will do nice. If you plan on paying me to join back into the game, just use Scroll and I'll come back for sure.

New Donation Page

Just letting you know that I made a Chip-In page for certain scenarios that I'm in. It's not much really but I can't pay it now since I don't have money on me right now.  So I was wondering if anyone was willing to donate. Thanks in advance.

A Longer (and maybe Pernament) Hiatus...

It's definitely going to be longer thanks to system requirements that are out of my reach right now. I just learned from a box art leak that MoP will require a dual-core processor and a better graphics card than what I have. As you may or may not know, my income is nearly non-existing as I have no job and chump change from my parents here and there. So getting these upgrades are not as easy as one may think. Not to mention that its risky to update my CPU with an five year old computer and it's probably on it's last limbs (just bought a sound card since the on-board sound died). So I practically out of the gaming deal of this.

I probably won't come back to this game at this rate. It's a shame, but I guess they have to upgrade the game's programming eventually. Just didn't think it would be at such a bad time.

No Heads For You!

Ok, aside from that failed pun, Blizzard (or Ghostcrawler himself) decides to get rid of head enchants in MoP. They just don't like the idea of being stuck with a faction you didn't like because it had what you need. Not to mention there was more factions in the upcoming expansion this time around. There were more reasons as to why they decide to get rid of this option, even though its not the perfect solution. Some players mention that it could be used into professions, such as Engineering or Enchanting. This idea could make professions a little more worthwhile when it comes to the auction house. He should probably take a second look upon the matter.

Nevertheless, it is a design choice that seems reasonable enough to let go and something I wouldn't mind either.

MoP Login Screen and Pandaren Mounts

Overall, a little dull and boring. Even then, that's the point of the login screen. It's suppose to be peaceful and calm with this expansion. Even though war is still going on between Alliance and Horde, there's nothing wrong with a little serenity here and there.

Also, the mounts for the pandarens is going to be cool. Apparently, these bulky buggers are dragon turtles. I bet these are the epic version of them and the one with less armor are going to be the rare version of dragon turtles. Either way, turtles as mounts is always cool.

Cloud Serpent Mount

I must say, these are some really, nice-looking mounts. Especially how they move in the sky. A little funny, but overall smooth. I can't wait to try them out when the expansion is available.

That's A Wrap!

Since last month, I officially ran out of time and probably not going to come back for a while. Fortunately, I got my For The Children achievement before it ran out. So I finally got a worthwhile title for my tauren druid. Not to mention my lovely pet, since he so cute and all that. Also, this marks a slow down on my posting for a while. Until I get more time, I will be posting a lot less often than I use to. However, I may post something interesting here once in a while. If you want to follow me on where I'm blogging, check out my general gaming blog here. I'm doing mostly League of Legends for now, but I still do all other kinds of gaming. So it won't be 100% about just one game.

Until then, I'll see you guys around.

On Wings of Nether

Well, I had to get a few eggs yesterday and became exalted with Netherwing. I'm glad that I did this task before I go on my hiatus. So, here is my first Netherwing Drake I bought (and yes, I bought the rest). I could do that Mountain o' Mount achievement, but that'll take some dedication to get up there. Oh well, maybe when MoP lands, I go for more. I'm trying to get Matron this year, but I only have two days since my subscription ends the third day. Well, I'll see what happens. I'll probably get it all on the first day and finish it off their. I'll be a little busy in RL this week, so it's going to be tricky.

About Blizzard and Social Networking...

They exist. If you want to hear "official" wording from them, they have a Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter webpages for you to check out their updates. You can click here if you want to access one of their social networking sites for future news and such. Also, the Annual Pass offer will be closed after Monday, April 30th. So if you still haven't decided to get one, better make the decision sooner than later.

This will be my last week. So I'll be trying to get a Netherdrake for my druid this week. It'll take a couple of days, but should be able to get it done before my subscription runs out. I'll post another post after I get it. Just be patient with me.

Didn't Want To Do This... *EDITED*

As I realizing , having multiple toons is getting tiresome and I'm just tired of seeing half of my toons in crap gearing. So,  I'm going to delete a good chunk of them. I'm hoping to have just two or three toons altogether. At least one for my Alliance side and one for Horde. Obviously, Meomeo is going to be kept because I love my tauren. But everyone else is up for grabs. I'll be back to post after I'm done with it.

*EDITED* And I am done. Meomeo made the cut (obviously), but my worgen hunter Corphria made it as well. That means every other toon I didn't listed are officially gone. I'm not plan on making another toon until MoP kicks in. Until then, I shall enjoy my increase amount of free time.

Going on Another Hiatus

Next month, my subscription is running out. Apparently, the SoR isn't what I want it to be and I'm now going on a subscription game hiatus. Don't worry though, I'll be playing other games and make posts about certain things to come in MoP that I feel that needs attention. Aside from that, that's what I have current for now.

Sound Blew Out

No seriously. Was playing another game at one moment and after I uninstall it and try to play WoW, it just died on me. Now I need to get a sound card so I can hear again. I'm thinking of getting a USB one, but sticking to the idea of getting it in PCI. It'll be replaced around April, so we'll see what happens.

Also, I'm going to try and update my commonly used characters later today. My hunter and shaman have been on a roll when it comes to gearing and such, but still has ways to go before being completed.

MoP Beta News/New Section

The beta for Mists of Pandaria has officially started. If you have the Annual Pass, you should be getting your invite as soon as possible. Even if its not today, just have some patience for Blizzard to send you one. Since I didn't get the Annual Pass, I'll have to wait with the Beta Opt-In option, which may take a while or never. For live realm news, the Aspect Buff for Dragon Soul raid instance has increased to 15%.

Also, I posted signatures of my characters in my new tab. Just click up the Character List tab to see what character I have and are currently being used. I'll improve it later, but for now, it'll leave it as it is.

Press Tour Information is Up/New Page Soon

Forgot to post this after the spoiler, but Blizzard has released content for their next expansion, Mists of Pandaria. You can find the full information about it on MMO-Champion. If you want to find the graphical part of the information, you can find it on the official website. There is a lot in store for what's to come, however, let's remain open minded that this is all still not set in stone. At any moment, they can either add, delete, or change something in one of these features. So be on the lookout for that.

Also, I'm planning on making a new page to showcase my characters a bit. I'm not sure what will be on it, but hopefully it'll be a detail description of each. Of course, I'm not going to upload them all, but just a few for now. So stay tuned to this blog.

About the Female Pandaren Model...

It's not too bad. I can see where they can improve on it, but nothing to get up to arms about. Heck, came out a lot better than what the female worgen had to suffer. In fact, they look kinda cute for their look. Oh well, there still some time before the beta and release. So they have a lot of time in the world to fix it.

System Lead Critizes WoW/SoR Reminder

Apparently, Ghostcrawler made a post mortem about what Cataclysm did good and bad for WoW and what's to look for in the next expansion. Well, what he mentioned does make sense. However, he didn't mention too much about PvP balance and structure of PvE raid sizes. But for me, I'm not really picky on those two because they're always in a state of flux that people will never be satisfied from. Also, I refrain from judging what's going to happen in the next expansion. It looks good, but I'm not going to lie to myself and think this is going to be a good expansion. I'm going to wait and see about that.

Also, a quick reminder about SoR. If you want to be invited to a specific realm in the US, just post your realm name and email address here or in the SoR Request tab. Apparently, you can change to a different realm for free if you want to level somewhere else or be with your friends.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Oh Boy! *EDITED*

Seems like SoR is getting a huge buff. Not only able to be instantly 80 and into Cataclysm, but also capable of getting a mount as well. This is really good news for me, since I always wanted to be rewarded for bring back people in. Hopefully one of you guys will help me out of getting one when it comes out.

*If you want a SoR, you'll have to make a comment with your email address. However, for safety sake, I'll hide/delete comments once I get your email address in the SoR tab.

I'm Back!/War College

Yep! Up for another round of PvE/PvP drama and excitement (what's left of it). Since I'm back now, I'll be re-opening my SoR section soon when Blizzard enables it. Just need to make some links and maybe (won't hold my breathe) some people needs them. I'll probably poke around more if people need them, but going to set up five when it starts.

Also, make sure to check out the War College, because they may have some advice on how to do Isle of Conquest. Probably not the best, but advice is advice.

Blizzard Large Laid Off/Coming Back In March

Seems like Blizzard let go 600 of their employees. Although it does not affect the game development areas, it's never fun to lose a job anywhere. Still, they might be able to find a place thanks to recommendations from the company. So, good luck to those 600 that got laid off.

Also, I might be coming back to WoW either tomorrow or next week. It may vary since I'm still in school, but I should be able to get back on soon enough. Also, I'll open up my SoR section when that happens. So be on a lookout if you need a scroll.

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

This is Good News...Somewhat

Well, Patch 4.3.3 has officially came out. Not only does it support 64-bit computer clients, but SoR has been buffed and turned back on. Even to the point of handing out up to 100 scrolls. However there is a few bad news to this:
  • There will be too many scrolls going out, making the demand for them shrink immensely. This might make my SoR section pretty useless since there will be places that will have a lot of them everywhere.
  • I need to get a subscription again to benefit this feature. By the time I get one, the demand for them will be a lot smaller and I probably will have to buy carefully now.
  • Unless the next expansion is coming out real soon, this is too soon to be turn back on. People with Annual Pass have a free shot of cutting down that demand even more with this option.
So, it seems I just need to get an income at this rate because it's not going to be easy keeping my subscription up. Still, I will provide them when I come back on. However, I'm not sure if it'll be resourceful like it use to be.

SoR Maybe Back Soon/New FFXI Blog/Video Section Update

Scroll of Resurrection maybe back in the next few patches. I don't know when, but hopefully this will put me back on getting more subscription time. So stay tuned to Blizzard's announcements and MMO-Champion's posts.

Also, here's my FFXI blog, Tiny Ren. Just a little blog talk of my Tarutaru, Renwin. Similar to WoW, talking about gear and what I'm doing. Also, I won't have as many as 10 characters since that game is hard just with one. Two would not only hurt me time-wise, but even money-wise as well. Just what I need at this moment. Also, I'll be posting up some End Time videos on my YouTube, so click on the tab above if you want to view it. I'm not back yet, but I just forgot to upload them until now. Check them out.

Need a Break...

Sorry, I just got hooked on FFXI (Final Fantasy 11) recently (thanks to a friend of mines) and just couldn't post anything up. More so, my subscription ran out and have no cash on me. So, I'm going to take a break from this game. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but hopefully when I get a job or some cash near my birthday (highly doubt it, but just watch out for it).Still, I'm playing League of Legends and FFXI. So I'm not all dead. You can find me in those games. I'll post a new blog about FFXI, but it may take a while with the design. So hang with me.

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Sorry for Inactivity

Lately, I have been playing FFXI and doing school, so I haven't been providing content as of this moment. However, I'm planning on taking a break from that game a bit and post some things over the weekend. So bare with me on that. Also, the links for my SoR are broken as of now since Blizzard shut down the service for them recently. Hopefully, it'll open before next month or I'll have to buy a subscription time card. Anyways, just keep an eye out for the weekend.
